Facilities
Coral Bay is located in Australia's unique North-West, and is the southern gateway to the Ningaloo Reef Marine Park and Cape Range National Park. The area's many natural wonders attract excited interest from around the world, including that from scientists eager to study the abundant and in some cases rare marine life that thrives in this pristine environment.
Unlike reefs - such as the Great Barrier Reef - that are located much farther from shore, Ningaloo Reef virtually touches the shoreline, making it the largest coral fringing reef in the world. Nowhere does it come closer to shore than at Coral Bay, where it is possible to wade just a few metres into the water, see coral formations and swim amongst the fish.
Around 500 different varieties of fish inhabit these waters, as do whale sharks, humpback whales, manta rays, dolphins, dugongs and turtles at different times during the year.
The emerald waters immediately around Coral Bay are known as the Maud Sanctuary Zone. Snorkelling here is a magical experience whatever your age, as you come face to face with countless varieties of tropical fish gliding effortlessly between the stunning coral formations. Endless white beaches, whale sharks, superb fishing, dolphins frolicking offshore, brilliant sunsets over the ocean and evening skies alive with stars - Your promise of a memorable time spent at Coral Bay. |
